This design is by Kateryna, a cross stitch designer based in Ukraine, drawing her inspiration from folk tales and nature. Apiculture is very widespread in the country and like her fellow countrymen and women, the designer loves to observe the bees close, dedicating this pattern to their buzzing world.
Leading the colony is the Queen, featured large and prominent in the center of the pattern, with workers from the hive attending to her. Left is a honey pot, in the shape of a bee. Right is a beekeeper with a large mustache, wearing his protective gear including the special hat with a sheer net, which is cleverly rendered in a long stitches over the cross-stitch face. All around are flowers, hives and tiny bees super busy harvesting their sweet nectar.
